This document specifies terms and definitions relating to dredgers, with the aim of giving clear enough definitions for every term for them to be understood by all specialists.
This document is applicable only to equipment which is used for the construction and maintenance of navigable waterways and the extraction of soil.
The terms specified in this document are intended to be used in documentation of all kinds. Certain standardized terms are also given with their abridged version; these can be used in cases where no possibility of misinterpretation can arise.
A combination of terms is allowed in application.

Dieses Dokument legt Begriffe in Bezug auf Schwimmbagger mit der Absicht fest, für jeden Begriff aus-reichend klare Definitionen zu liefern, damit diese von allen Spezialisten verstanden werden.
Dieses Dokument gilt lediglich für Geräte, die für die Konstruktion und Wartung von schiffbaren Wasser-straßen und die Extraktion von Boden verwendet werden.
Die in diesem Dokument festgelegten Begriffe sind für Dokumentationen jedweder Art vorgesehen. Be-stimmte genormte Begriffe werden außerdem in der gekürzten Version angegeben; diese können in den Fäl-len verwendet werden, in denen es zu keiner Fehlerinterpretation kommen kann.
Eine Kombination aus Begriffen ist in der Anwendung zulässig.

Le présent document définit les termes et définitions relatifs aux dragues dans le but de donner des définitions suffisamment claires pour que chaque terme puisse être compris par tous les spécialistes.
Le présent document n'est applicable qu'aux équipements utilisés pour la construction et l'entretien des voies navigables et pour l'extraction du sol.
Les termes définis dans le présent document sont destinés aux documents de tous types. Certains termes normalisés sont aussi donnés avec leurs formes abrégées, qui peuvent être utilisées dans les cas où aucune confusion n'est possible.
Il est admis d'employer des combinaisons de termes pour des raisons pratiques.

Ta dokument določa izraze in definicije v zvezi s plovnimi bagri za namene zagotavljanja ustreznega razumevanja posameznih izrazov, ki jih uporabljajo strokovnjaki. Ta dokument se navezuje samo na opremo, ki se uporablja za vzpostavitev in vzdrževanje plovnih poti ter izkopavanje zemlje. V tem dokumentu opredeljeni izrazi so predvideni za uporabo v različnih dokumentacijah. This document (EN ISO 8384:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 8 "Ships and
marine technology" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 15 “Inland navigation vessels”
the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by April 2020, and conflicting national standards shall be
withdrawn at the latest by April 2020.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN ISO 8384:2018.
According to the CEN-CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the
